Vancouver Millionaire’s : A tribute to a team, the rebirth of a logo

On Friday Nov.21st, I checked out the annual Vancouver Giants Legends Night. In attendance: her Royal Highness, The Stanley Cup, Dave “the Hammer” Schultz, Yvon Cournoyer, Johnny Bower, Steve Shutt, and Gerry Cheevers – All Stanley Cup Champions, all celebrated pre- game in the fabulous Pacific Coliseum.

Not only were those legends revered, The Vancouver Giants also paid a little tribute to some other Legends: The Vancouver Millionaires, the only team in the city’s history to win the Stanley Cup (1915). The Giants were dressed in replica Millionaire uniforms; maroon and cream colored jerseys, with cream colored pants. The Giants beat the Kamloops Blazers 6-3. Normally a game like this would have plenty of rough stuff and fights. However, due to the throngs of minor hockey kids in the crowd, fights were broken up before they had a chance to start.

Over 12,000 fans attended the game and many of them buzzed the Vancouver Millionaires merchandise table. I checked on the table pre-game, during each intermission, and after the game, and every time the crowd at the table was three to four people deep. Look in the mannequin has the shirt sold right off of its chest!!

Yep the man who owns the rights to the Millionaires, former glam rockin’ body builder, Thor should be pleased with the fans response to the historic logo and looks.

Did you know...much of the Vancouver Millionaire’s memorabilia was destroyed in the fire that burned down the fabled Denman Arena, where the Millionaire’s played?

Browse the Millionaire’s collection and learn more about the history at

Vancouver Millionaire apparel would make a great gift for the hockey history enthusiasts in your life. Or people in love with the color maroon. The website is also equipped with an online shop.

Here’s a little something for the hockey lovin’ jewelry collectors in your life. I present...the FanBangle. Each FanBangle bracelet is hand-crafted of sterling silver and Swarovski crystal in your team's colors and anchored by an officially licensed team logo charm in sterling silver. The bracelet feels good on the wrist. It has weight and will add a little sparkle to your game night outfit.

Washington Capital’s writer, Leslie (aka Hockey Mom from Musings of a Hockey Mom) teamed up with jewelry designer, Ann Carney and created FanBangles , offering sports fans a unique line of sports inspired jewelry that goes from hectic work day, to dinner, to ARENA with style!

The FanBangle is a great gift idea for the ladies who probably already own a team jersey, hat, scarf and tee. Don’t let their wrists be naked!!! To order Fanbangles, please visit the website...
